Q. Where will HM12 take place?

A. HM12 will take place at the San Diego Convention Center at 111 W. Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101. The San Diego Convention Center is located downtown along majestic San Diego Bay with the vibrant Gaslamp District and the San Diego Padres' PETCO Park at its doorstep.

Q. How much does it cost to attend HM12?

A. Costs will vary depending on how you customize your experience. Click here to see the options.

Q. I am a faculty member; how do I make my hotel and travel arrangements?

A. Please e-mail Theresa Jones at tjones@hospitalmedicine.org.

Q. What is the best way to plan my Hospital Medicine 2012 experience? Will I be given a syllabus with copies of the speakers' slides on site?

A. Syllabus materials will be provided on site for all Pre-Courses. Materials for the April 2–4, 2012 sessions are available prior to arriving on site. We strongly encourage you to print the materials for the sessions you choose to attend prior to your arrival. In addition, please be sure to review the block schedule so you can maximize your experience at the meeting and attend the sessions that interest you most.

Q. What is the early registration deadline?

A. Attendees who register by Monday, March 5, 2012 will receive discounted registration for the Pre-Courses and Annual Meeting. Save money by registering early and online!

Q. What is the cancellation/refund policy/disclaimer for Hospital Medicine 2012?

A. Notice of registration cancellation must be made in writing via mail, fax, or e-mail. Cancellations will not be accepted by telephone.

The postmark, fax, or e-mail date will determine your refund as follows:

  • Cancellation prior to February 6, 2012...........................................................Full refund less $50.00 administrative fee
  • Cancellation between February 6, 2012–March 5, 2012............................Full refund less $100.00 administrative fee
  • Cancellation after March 5, 2012.....................................................................No refund

Q. If I'm a member of the media, how do I register for HM12?

A. All media representatives should contact SHM's media relations department at media@hospitalmedicine.org. Please be sure to include your name, title, publication, or media outlet in the e-mail. Further instructions on where to check in on site will be given closer to the conference.

Q. Whom do I contact if I want to write a story about HM12?

Q. Will SHM hold a HM12 informational webinar soon?

A. Yes, Friday, January 13, 2012, 3:00-4:00 p.m. EST .
